Winter is a hard time for us using active wheel chairs. Still there are alternatives like skiing and ice skating. And cycling could be preferable to the wheel chair, if it has the right design. The drive must be on the rear wheel(s). I have not found this type of vehicle yet, but something like this:
would be convenient. The motor can be replaced by a combined crank and steering wheel. This construction exists on tricycles with front wheel drive. However, simplicity might suggest a modified wheel chair. Snow tyres exist, but how easy do you move with these monster wheels?

I will try, when snow comes. Replacing the link wheels with a ski, has been tried with bad result. Rather one big winter link wheel placed far ahead like on the racing chair, would be the best.
